Likely a 1922 Loar-era Gibson A-4. It is missing the pickguard and has considerable playing wear in the finish., but appears all original except for a recent well done refret with original small size frets. Dark reddish brown sunburst top and all dark reddish brown back and sides. Has the OHSC as well as a modern oblong HSC. We spent considerable time trying to read the pencil serial number on the label but are not positive the number listed is correct. There is a batch number 11711 rubber stamped on the neck block and easily readable and that's why we decided it was a 1922. This mandolin sounds fantastic!
