1923 Gibson F-4 Mandolin
Rare Lloyd Loar-era instrument in very good condition, 2-point body in sunburst finish with Adirondack spruce top and flame maple back & sides.  Elevated pickguard with point & 2 clamps.  Bound soundhole with 2 rope-pattern inlay rings, bound ebony fingerboard with treble-side expansion & large pearl dot inlays.  1-piece neck with rounded neck heel and arrow-end tuner plates, and no-inlay tuner buttons.  Peghead has single "Flowerpot" inlay, slanted "The Gibson" logo, and truss rod.  FON is 11960.

Mandolin is in very good overall shape, with plenty of playing wear, but no cracks, and all-original.  Top has had slight sinking, but action is very playable, and frets are in good shape.  Peghead has had one repaired crack, as has the bridge, but overall very good.  Includes original hard shell case.  Fantastic example of a Loar-era legand!
