2006 Epiphone Elitist Broadway
Excellent condition, very little playing wear, replaced knobs, includes original hard shell case.
From the manufacturer:
Gibson issued the Broadway Elitist series from 2002 to 2008 as a limited run of premium instruments built with solid spruce soundboards, ebony fingerboards and other top-shelf appointments, crafted in the prestigious Terada factory of Japan. Production was ceased, purportedly, because the quality at the given price point of the instrument was too competitive for some of Gibsons other more expensive instruments.
The Epiphone Elitist Broadway features the same body-style as the Gibson L-5, which is condsidered by Jazz players to be the ultimate Jazz guitar of all time. If you want the tonal majesty of Gibson's ultimate Jazz-box, but don't want to pay the high price, then the Epiphone Elitist Broadway is the guitar for you. Designed for the professional musician, the Elitist Broadway from Epiphone combines over 125 years of instrument building experience and expertise with the finest materials. The result is an instrument of impeccable quality and beauty.
The Elitist Broadway Wood ?At the heart of every great instrument is the wood itself. That's why every piece of wood used in the Elitist Broadway line is hand-selected. It is then slowly and painstakingly dried to perfection in custom kilns until it is at the ideal moisture content. The Elitist Broadway features AAA flame maple back and sides, with a solid spruce top.
The Elitist Broadway Neck ?All Elitist necks are cut at a 14o grain orientation from one piece of wood for optimum strength, stability and tonal response. As with all great instruments, the necks are then carefully and individually fitted to the body using a hand-glued, dovetail neck joint. The Elitist Broadway has a 22 fret, 5-piece maple/rosewood/maple/rosewood/maple set neck with an ebony fingerboard, which imparts a tight percussive sound that is unequaled by any other cosmetically beautiful wood.
The Elitist Pickups? All Elitist instruments are equipped with custom-wound pickups "Made in the USA" exclusively for Epiphone by Gibson Musical Instruments and feature such uncompromising features as:
- High Quality Cover Materials - All pickup covers use quality German silver with vintage Nickel or real 24K Gold finish.
- Vintage Braided, Shielded Wire - For authentic vintage look and tone with no noise.
- Full Wax Potting - Every pickup is potted in a special wax bath to insure that microphonic feedback due to internal vibration is eliminated. All covered models receive a second wax bath to further protect the pickup.
- Specially Made Magnets - All magnets are magnetized by Gibson to ensure the total reliability of each magnet's performance. Critical magnetic flux is maintained for the perfect combination of output without sacrificing tonal characteristics.
The Elitist Hardware? The Epiphone Elitist Broadway features the finest 24K Gold hardware and precision Grover tuners with Imperial buttons.
