This is a 1964 longneck 5-string banjo. made by the Boston Vega folks 6 years before they sold the banjo company to CF Martin. It's the more Plain-Jane version of the Pete Seeger banjo with a maple neck and pot, guitar-type tuners, Grover non-geared fifth peg, and has the original Vegalon plastic head. Very good condition except for a spot on the bass side of the nut where an area of finish was worn away by a string the original owner used to hang it on the wall. It has 24 hooks/brackets. a Grover Presto-style tailpiece (but no Presto logo stamped on it) and a Brazilian Rosewood fret board with MOP dot inlays. All original except for an added fifth string spike at the 12th fret. No case.
