This is a 1973 Jose Ramirez Model 2A classical guitar with serial number R-1043. It has a cedar top and highly figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides (the sides are laminated, other woods are solid), 664 mm scale length, 2 3/32” nut width, polyurethane finish and Fustero tuning machines. As is typical of many Ramirez guitars, the action is quite high (13/64” on low E at the 12th fret) and there is little that can be done to lower it. It was Mr. Ramirez’s philosophy that the guitar sounds better with high action and he built them accordingly. It is in very good condition with the exception of one repaired back crack and some light playing wear.. A hardshell case is included.
