Frequently Asked Questions

Private Lessons

How much are lessons?
The rate for a single ½-hour lesson is $40.00. We are pleased to offer a 10% discount per half hour lesson for students who enroll in our convenient monthly auto-pay system. By taking advantage of the auto-pay option, your cost per half-hour lesson will be reduced to $36, ensuring you receive a great value while simplifying the payment process.

What happens if I miss my lesson? Will I still be charged for it?
As long as the instructor has 24 hours or more advanced notice, you will not be charged for the lesson or, if you paid in advance via our convenient monthly auto-pay system, you will receive a lesson credit to be applied to the next month’s lessons payment. Any lesson that is missed without at least 24 hours advanced notice will be subject to full payment.

When can I take lessons?
Lessons are typically held weekly at a scheduled time and offered according to instructor availability.

What is the best age for my child to begin lessons?
If your child is able to stay focused during each weekly ½-hour lesson and also practice at home for at least 15-30 minutes a day, they will have a greater chance of learning. Although every child is different, we have found that this typically occurs at around age 7.

How long does it take to learn an instrument?
The key to success in any instrument is consistent practice and regular lesson attendance. Everyone learns at a different pace, which is why we do not have semesters. You may take as many or as few lessons as you feel you need.

Are there group lessons?
At this time, we offer private individual lessons and one-day workshops which are typically one and a half to two hours.

What if I want to take a lesson at the same time with my spouse/child/friend?
Ultimately, it's up to the instructor, but be aware that everyone learns at a different rate, and that lessons are charged per-student.
